When the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles, purchased eighty pieces of art from Milanese Count Guseppe Panza di Biumo in 1984, the works became the core of MOCA's permanent collection. Hailed at the time as one of the world's most important acquisitions of contemporary art.
